Kaitlyn is now 4 months old and is doing great! She had a Doctor’s appointment yesterday morning so we were able to get a full update as to how she is doing. Kaitlyn now weighs 9lbs 4oz and is 22.25 inches long. She’s catching up to “normal” babies on the growth chart which is great. In terms of developmental stages, she is about three months old. This is great news for Kaitlyn, as she should be acting like a two month old. She is smiling, cooing, maintaining eye contact, lifting her head up, and a few more things. Her next big steps are going to be laughing (I can’t wait!), rolling over, and reaching for and holding toys.
The Doctor also checked Kaitlyn’s hemoglobin (iron level) to see if she could come off of her prescription iron, but it wasn’t quite high enough so her amount was increased and we’ll check it again in a month. And of course, a Doctor’s visit wouldn’t be complete without shots. Kaitlyn received 4 vaccinations yesterday.
We are also being referred to a specialist to take a look at Kaitlyn’s hemangioma on her lip. Our pediatrician is slightly concerned that it may get in the way when we start feeding Kaitlyn solids, so she wants the specialist to take a look at it.
Other than that, we are all doing great! Just enjoying our sweet baby girl! More updates coming soon…
