Why the web rocks

Back in the day before we had all these tubes, moms and dads had to figure things out for themselves, and hope that what they were doing would allow their child to grow up in a great home.  I tend to think the most important ingredient is love – unconditional, unfaltering love.

But I know that there is more to it than that, and this article outlines 7 habits of highly successful fathers.  Not sure if they actually work, but they seem logical.  They can even apply to moms as well.

I have avoided saying anything while I held my breath for along time. As many of you know, having been a labor and delivery and NICU nurse many years ago, I have enough knowledge to have been crazy with worry! Our little princess Kaitlyn is one determined young lady (must be the Cuban genes) she knew she wanted out, pushed herself off all the breathing aids, and has surprised everyone with all her accomplishments! I know that she will eat up a storm to get home in time for the best Thanksgiving ever! We have so much to be thankful for! To our family and friends (you are our extended family), thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I always said baby Kaitlyn needed a little medicine and a great deal of prayers! You have all supplied the love and prayers needed. To my daughter Tori…I am so proud of how you have handled everything…you have been so strong! I would have totally lost it if you had not been so strong. To my “son” Sean….guess you have earned your stars! It is hard to be anything like” Papito” (Tony) across the board and you have risen to al the challenges thrown at you! Thank you for loving my baby girl. I hope your baby girl brings you as much pride as my blue eyes and my other girls have brought me! I am glad Anthony has you as a brother to get guidance from now and always. May your new little family grow strong in love and faith because those are the two most important things in life!

My habit is check my email 1st thing in the morning and last thing before bed….that has become second now to clicking the link on my desktop to “kaitlyn’s home on the web”….I don’t understand “old people” (and I qualify in years) hating the internet….I would have missed the joys, and yes, even the fears and tears which are also a part of life, because of being several states away and not physically seeing you two since your wedding without it! What a blessed adventure this has been so far; and appropriate to what has been the most challenging, rewarding, painful, joyous and life-changing path I’ve ever taken in this life. Cliche maybe, but I’ve learned more important lessons from my children and grandchildren than anywhere else, including lots of college courses! And the great bonus is they are the gift that keeps on giving…9 grands….and my reward from being a parent is that all I have to do with the grands is love them & spoil them (forget that discipline stuff that you guys have to do [and you DO have to do it!]) I love you guys and hope after life becomes as “normal” as it will ever be for you again, you will find time to keep up this website so my connection to you will continue.

    Much love,
    Nina/Nana/Aunt Annelle
